Introduction
The Lower Zambezi is worth visiting in any season — but what you get from your trip changes significantly depending on when you come.
The Dry Season: May to October (Peak)
This is when most guests visit. Water levels drop progressively through this period, concentrating wildlife along the river. Fishing: Peak tiger fish season runs July–October.
The Green Season: November to April
The rains arrive in November and the landscape transforms. Lower rates, fewer crowds, exceptional birdwatching.
Month by Month
September: Best overall month — fishing, wildlife, weather all excellent. October: Very hot. Best tiger fishing of the year.
